Frantic!

Today I ran around like a mad woman all day! To start off I woke up at 6:40 after going to bed at 2 am because Rachel has been talking about going up to Piazza Michelangelo to watch the sunrise all week! And today it wasn’t suppose to rain in the morning! So after only 4 hours of sleep we were off hiking to the top of this outlook which eventually turned into a run when we started cutting it close to the rise! It was kinda disappointing because it was cloudy so you didn’t really see any colors in the sky besides some spots of blue! But it wasn’t your typical sunrise! Florence normally during this time of year is rainy. All day everyday and we haven’t experienced that till this week! So we definitely lucked out but it stinks that it’s raining our last days here! So after our sunrise we went back home I threw in some laundry, showered, AND.... went back to sleep! (After I facetimed bree of course) I slept from 9:30 till about 11:30 then I got up and started packing up all the things I had to take places and made my list of my last souvenirs to gather! First I went to a store to return my Piccell SIM card. So officially I have my actually number back!! That was a quick and easy process! Then I went to school to return our access cards which we had to put a deposit down on, so since I didn’t lose my card I got 10€ back, and 15€ for returning my cutting board! I had to say my final goodbyes to some awesome professors but they always say, I’ll see you again! From here I went to the bookstore where I turned in my art history book that I opened up once for $11.50 which is about half of what I paid for it! So that was pretty good! Then I was on the hunt for my souvenirs, I got my ornament yesterday, and today I got my big water color painting of Florence! That was definitely a struggle deciding on one. I walked all over the place looking for the best one but they are all so different! I found a man today painting by the Ponte Vecchio and his work was so detailed and just beautiful and so responsibly priced! I then went to this sock store (I know that sounds crazy) but they were having a sale on socks and they are honestly all so cute and unique! It’s a store you wouldn’t find in the US, so I stocked up on my cute European styled socks and then shopped the leather markets! After so many stores I decided to head home to rest because my feet were killing me. Well I was shocked to see that I had walked 10 miles in 4 hours! So I sat at my table, facetimed my mom and started showing her my purchases when I realized one pair of my socks had holes in each sock! So I had to pack back up and head back to the store for and exchange! I was not a happy camper considering how sore I was from walking all over the city, but the exchange was quick and easy and I headed home to nap one more time. I got up and did my nails to get ready for dinner! 3 of my 4 close friends I met here leave tomorrow so the 5 of us got dinner! It was a fun last night all together and the waiter and gave us a whole free bottle of Limoncello that we then sipped on for 30 minutes! But after dinner I walked home and decided I would see if my favorite gelato place was still open, it was a little dark but there were still two workers inside so I liked my head in and asked if they were still open, he responded only for 2 more minutes what can I get ya, I of course got my favorite coconut and matcha and I told him I was bringing some friends tomorrow for our last night in florence! He gave me a deer in headlights look back and when I asked what was wrong he informed me that it was their last night open for the season! I was so shocked and thankful at the same time that I decided to go today, and I just told him again that they make the best coconut gelato in all of Florence! Well my sadness about them closing and my flattering skills clearly worked because I got my gelato for free! Crazy crazy crazy thinking tomorrow is my last day! It’s actually mind blowing how fast the semester went! I’m definitely going to miss it here because I’m getting more and more upset I’m leaving everyday! Ciao for now
