Well after a day consumed by packing I am in bed and exhausted. I got up around 9:30 and instantly started loading up my bags, and I threw in my last load of laundry. My goal was to come home with all of my clothes being clean and I managed to accomplish that! I am crazy about unpacking so I plan on unpacking all of my clothes right when I get home. I promised Bree that should could sleep with me my first night back if she would help and put things on hangers as I unpacked, she said she would so we shall see if she follows through! But I shopped a little today to get my last minute souvenirs done, then proceeded to just take them all home and shove them in a suitcase! But it felt good to check everything and everyone off my list.
I started making my snapfish book of all my pictures from the semester and I worked on it for about 2 hours and I only got through 2 weeks! Its going to be a long process but its will give me something to do during my layovers and on the plane.
We decided to spend our last night like how we spent one of our first nights in Florence! We went to one of our favorite restaurants which we went to our first full day which is exactly 4 months ago today! It had my favorite pasta dish there and from the first time I put one of those little gnocchi's in my mouth I knew I would be eating here a lot!
I finished my night by putting my finally dry clean clothes in my suitcase. I had hung them over our furnaces all day and were waiting on some sweaters to finish up drying. Well I loaded up my suitcase and easily zipped it shut... and i weighed 74 pounds. 74 POUNDS! I instantly started to panic.. because this was suitcase number 2 and the other suitcase was already at 47 pounds. So i started tearing though my suitcase figuring out what should be left behind but there wasn't much and definitely not enough to subtract 24 pounds worth. So I had to call in the big guns (Brian) and panic to him a bit. He first was like go buy another suitcase and I was like how the heck am i going to get through the airport with 3 large suitcases and my small carryon suitcase! Then he was like "well does it close" and i explained that it zipped quite easily, it was just overweight. So luckily since Brian is awesome he told me not to worry about it and just pay for the overweight bag! Im just sitting here typing this still in disbelief just imagining myself carrying this 74 pound bag down the 4 flights of steps tomorrow morning from our apartment... its going to be quite comical to look back on, definitely not in the moment! Im just hoping/praying that all of my souvenirs and gifts make it back home safe and sound.
I can't believe that tomorrow I will be going to sleep in my bed back in Pittsburgh! 124 days surely flew by. But I saw so much of the world and more things than I can ever imagine!
