1 Month Left!

Today marks one month until I head home, and yesterday marks 3 months since I arrived it Italy! Its definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions this past week between dealing with homesickness and thinking that I only have a month left here. Unfortunately I can't have the best of both worlds and have my life back at home in Pittsburgh and continue to travel to to new countries every weekend. These next few weeks I'm sure are going to fly by just like this entire semester! I am off to Venice for a school trip this weekend. Wednesday I leave for Paris for 3.5 days which I will be visiting Eurodisney along the way, and Saturday-Tuesday I'm in London! Then that following Friday I leave for my final full weekend trip to Greece! Its just crazy to think about that I've been waiting to go to Disney this entire semester and next week its here!

Wednesday night I attended the Opera! I was told there wasn't any recordings allowed and for once I actually listened which I regret! The performers were amazing, and this night they even let some of the local students join in singing! So we got to see both a girl and man our age studying and practicing this type of performance sing! And honestly they were just as good as the professionals! In the final song the main man cued us all to join in singing, and after the italians joined in from the front few rows I was like Woah I actually know this from somewhere.... Well turns out that song was featured in the Lizzie McGuire movie! So Disney channel really was educational teaching me lyrics to Volare before I even knew how famous that song was!

Yesterday I decided to finally go get my ankle looked at! Considering I fell down the steps Monday and my ankle was still huge Wednesday night. I started my day off at the medical center where a doctor looked at my ankle and instantly told me I needed to go get some x-rays! They sent me directly to another doctor across the city to get them done, the x-ray technician there was a cute girl not much older than myself and when she asked what happened and I proceeded to tell her that i fell down the steps she then followed up with the question "Did this happen at Space?" I couldn't help but to just start cracking up laughing. Space is a BIG club in Florence that had a big concert there only 2 nights before this interaction! We were told that American Students are known for getting way to drunk during their time over seas since most of the time it is our first time legally being able to consume alcohol! So she thought I was only following the stereotype, but little does she know I just honestly slipped because of my socks on the wooden floor! But of course the day after I sign up to run the half marathon I fall down the steps! Thats just my luck! But luckily after an entire afternoon at doctors, I got a confirmation that its not broken! So apparently in Italy you don't get a boot or anything unless there is a fracture! I have had MANY sprained ankles and I have always been thrown in a boot, but here its just a suck it up kind of mentality!
