Oktoberfest!

Munich you have captured a piece of my heart! Not only is the city amazing but Oktoberfest is definitely my type of thing. One I love amusement parks and where this takes place is literally in the middle of an amusement park which I had not idea about. There are games, rides, and BEER! It was quite a site to see! This morning we put on our boots and dirndls oh and Fanny packs... yes fanny packs and headed for the Park! The fanny packs were the purchase of the trip because we spent only 1€ on them and we tucked them under our aprons so everywhere that had bag checks we didn't have to stop because they have not idea we had a fanny pack tucked under there! We spent our first hour just walking the park taking it all in! We then made our way into the Hofbäuhaus tent! It was beautifully decorated but filled with people! We found our friends and climbed the table to grab a seat (which is the hard part). Finding a seat during this time can be difficult especially if you have a big group! Lucky for us there were only 5 of us so they were able to squeeze two more people at their table! We spent about 2 hours there as a live band filled the room with music causing people to sing along, and witnessed many many people stand on the table to signal that they were going to chug the rest of their beer to move onto the next! If someone failed their chug people boo'ed but if you were successful cheering and clapping came from everywhere!
Our table luckily had lots of friendly people at it, first we had some Italians that spoke zero English but were putting us in all their pictures and videos! Then we had a cute couple in their early 30s sit next to us and they were just filled with excitement and asking us so many questions about the US. Then on our other side sat a group of friends from Switzerland! They were a lot of fun and it was so nice having English as our first language because we were all able to communicate!
After we finished our beers we headed out of the tent to look for some lunch! I got a Bratwurst (I knew my dad would say I missed out if I didn't) and I definitely would get it again! It was 1/2 a meter long! So it was well worth the money and also good on the taste buds! We headed into another tent and to our surprise after three many people get kicked out of their tables because people have them reserved for the night! So mostly we were only in there for a bathroom break! We decided just to wander the park again and shop when we stumbled upon this small tent that had a live band on the first and second floor and people all over we standing on tables and singing along. When we stood just watching the guard told us if we finished our drinks (that we bought along the way) he would let us in. So we finished those off quickly and he sent us to the top floor where we were welcomed at a table with some people finishing off there liters! They left after about 20 minutes and then we had a mother and three girls about our age come sit with us! They taught us that you tie the apron of your dirndl on the left to signal you are single and tie it on the right to signal that you are taken! We dance on the table with them a few times and then had to head out of there for the same reason that people with reservations were coming! We spent a good two hours in there and then decided we were gunna head back to the hotel and rest up before dinner! So here we are now just exhausted from our day and stomachs feeling so full we couldn't consume one more thing.
Also, when I say tents don't imagine a big tent from a graduation party! These are full on buildings that are filled end to end and top to bottom with tables and benches!
Well it's Almost time to go to sleep so we will be ready for day three tomorrow!
