I have made it to Munich, Germany. Its amazing here, and its so cool being in a new city and comparing how different it is to Florence. We were shocked how quiet it is here. Our journey started at 3:30 this morning, when Annas alarm went off and she SNOOZED IT. Thats a sin to hit snooze on a travel day since anxiety and excitement set in the second I wake up so there was no chance of going back to sleep, plus I didn't sleep well in general because i always get paranoid that my alarm won't go off. But we got up packed our final things and headed to the street to meet the taxi! It was strange seeing our street empty! Its always busy and filled with people... apparently not at 430 in the morning. We got through the airport like a breeze, and our flight was one of the best flights I have ever have. It was nice and smooth. And we got a decent breakfast on our one hour and 20 minute flight. It was like a little strudel and some orange juice. So we landed in Munich and headed to the hotel. We checked in our bags at 8 am but couldn't check into your room until 2 pm. So we figured we would go shopping for our dirndls, get some breakfast, and check out the tents. We got to the actual grounds of Oktoberfest at 8:30 they haven't let people in yet but a small line had formed and all the workers were arriving. So we took a quick look and went to breakfast. We stopped at this little cafe that we found that happened to be a chain, and we got a pastry and a coffee. Oh yeah, the high today was 65, but when we got off the plane it was only 37 degrees... so it was a very COLD morning. We hung out in the cafe till 10 when shops started opening and went on a hunt for our dirndls. One you need a dirndl for the experience, but you also need a dirndl to blend in, all over town people are wearing them SO if you are caught in the tent without one you stick out. This ended up being a lot harder than we had planned because we didn't want to spend a fortune, but anything cheap either wasn't cute or made out of terrible material, so we wanted to make our purchase worth while. SO after walking 12 miles we found our dirndls. We had to go into at least 20 stores looking for one. Anna made the comment that it felt like prom dress shopping because we just had to find the perfect one, but I compared it to finding a wedding dress because (even though i've never been wedding dress shopping) I was the first one to find my perfect one, and when I walked out of the dressing room to take a look my friends were like, "Thats it!, Thats the one". I felt like i was onset yes to the dress.

But it was a successful day and we got to see a lot of the city on our adventure. We had lunch at the Hofbrãuhaus where I got my first liter of beer for the weekend, a pretzel, and a piece of sausage with sauerkraut. I definitely enjoy my german food, but what got the best of me today was the UPS bike. Yes UPS bike!! It came wheeling past son the sidewalk and I couldn't stop laughing. This little Thing gave a good laugh and if i lived here I think i would make that my first job growing up.... driving the UPS bike.

So overall we had a very successful day when having about 3 hours of sleep. And tomorrow we are ready to take over the tents of Oktoberfest in our new dirndls. PLEASE ignore my exhausted face in these pictures
