Presentation day is over with! It feels good to relax! It was kinda difficult to present because Uffizi was packed. For some reason the second the museum opens the line instantly forms and is LONG it took us over 30 minutes to get into the building. Which when class is only an hour and 5 minutes long... that does some damage. So we really only looked at three pieces of work today. One room had three paintings that were all made thirty years apart but are all similar in look, each shownMary surrounded by angels but each are represented differently. She showed us another painting we had previously seen in a church, and then it was time for me to present. It was strange to stand infant of not only my classmates but also a bunch of strangers and start rambling about this artwork. Also all of the works of art have censors attached to them with a railing in front, if your hand crossed the railing a buzzer would sound. So I wasn't able to point to anything, but that wasn't bad. All went pretty smoothly until the very end some woman came up to me and was like "can you move for my picture". I awkwardly starred and took two steps to the right. The room was packed and I was also standing in front of people talking so there wasn't really anywhere to move. I started back up again talking when she shouted "you need to keep going" My teacher turned angrily and was like WHY! And the lady shouted back, "your entire tour group is standing in the way of me getting a photo you are all rude". Well needless to say her interruption was pretty rude but was a great way of giving me a good stopping point. So when I was done we went running out of the museum because we had just enough time to get out of the museum. So if anyone needs any information on the adoration of the magi let me know!
And booklet number two is done! It feels nice to have these overwhelming days coming to an end! And this weekend we are off to Oktoberfest (the REAL one) to celebrate surviving. Im ready to buy my dirndl and drink some German beer!
