I can't believe it! I feel like I have dreamt of turning 21 since 8th grade, and that day is finally here. It was a good day in class, we went to Santa Croce, which I had no idea was so big! Then in Italian cinema we watched the American remake of the Italian movie "The Last Kiss". The American version was soooooo much better than the Italian version because the plot changed slightly do to how things are done and accepted in the US vs. Italy.
But anyway after class it was time to go out and celebrate my 21 birthday! My adorable roommates got me a cake from a little pastry shop near us, we have no idea what it was flavored but it was so good! They also managed to find a birthday crown... it was definitely made for little kids considering today my head is sore, but I managed to keep it on for parts of the nights!
We headed over to the Italian Mexican restaurant we fell in love with last week for happy hour for half off margaritas and food! You can never go wrong with Mexican... even in Italy! We shared nachos and I got a quesadilla for my meal, and of course some margaritas. I had a mango, prickly, and a strawberry one... the mango was by far the best but each one was delicious. We were there for several hours, then we headed over to a cocktail lunge called FUK. Yes they used the dirty name to their advantage, but we couldn't help but to laugh. I had my first Cosmopolitan here and even though I have nothing to compare it to I thought it was pretty good. Then we went over to Rasna for a few hours till our favorite place Green Street was open. It was a long day and I had a blast! But I definitely got sleepy! So we headed home and got some pizza along the way!
Thank you to everyone for there birthday wishes, they were much appreciated! And I got to FaceTime my family throughout the day. My mom and dad both facetimed me at midnight Italian time, then at midnight America time, so 6 am here to wish me a happy birthday, but I told them I was just excited to technically have my birthday be 30 hours long! I talked to my grandma before i headed out for dinner! Then I got to talk to my Aunt and Uncle and little cousins when I FINALLY regained a signal half way throughout the night! I also got ahold of Dena and Grandma (again) because they were together cooking a dinner which they claim was their way of celebrating my birthday! But it was a great birthday!
This morning we headed off to class again where we went to the Santa Maria Novella. Its neat seeing how all the exterior of the buildings relate to each other. We have a break until studio, but its gunna be one busy week next week! We got told Tuesday that we have a whole site model due next Thursday! Its gunna be a lot of work especially since tonight we head off to Croatia till Sunday night. But I'm ready to get busy again and work hard during the week so I can travel the world on weekends!
Well thats it for today! Thank you all again for the birthday weekend! And a shout out to Amanda Reese for answering my FaceTime even though she was in the middle of studying and i could barely hear her! Love you!
Thanks to everyone who made my birthday special. Cant wait to celebrate December 19th in Pittsburgh, late February with my friends and OX, and May 19th in Vegas with my whole family.
