Leather Coat

Today was the last day of orientation! We went to the hospital and the library and the Piazza Santa Croce! It was another helpful trip, but it would have been even more of helpful if it wasn't the exact route Rachel took us when we went 25 minutes out of the way to find her store that was only 5 minutes from our initial location two days ago, BUT we managed to get some history about the area this time around.

This afternoon we went shopping, and I couldn't help myself... I had to stop in the Leather store that had the Miami University flag the other day. So I walk in all excited and ask about the flag explaining that that is where I go to school. He proceeds to tell us that he has met many students from Miami while they were abroad, and proceeds to pull all of them up on Facebook and ask us if we knew every single person. These students must have bought a lot of leather because he had over 50 Miami student Facebook friends! Let me add he is maybe in his mid 30s and married, but full of excitement that we bonded with him over our school. In our time in the shop I couldn't help but to stare at this one jacket! I loved it, and it came in 5 different colors: brown, dark brown, navy blue, gray, and red. So he told me to try them on to decide which color I liked best. I fell in love with the dark brown one which was the first one I put on, and managed to become friends with Marco in the process. So he offered me this coat over $100 less then ticketed price, but I think i could get the price a little lower! I told him I loved it but needed to wait for my grandma and mom to come visit so I could get their approval! But I think I need it! My roommates and I told him we have only been there for a few days, and he proceeded to give us a list of the best grocery stores and best restaurants in town. (It wasn't creepy or sketchy) He was just being very kind! So anyway its now 7 hours later and I can't stop thinking about this coat!

For dinner we went out to this Irish Pub located right next to the Duomo! Food was okay, but they had good cheap drinks! On our way out I couldn't help but to notice this foreign man balancing his cell phone and selfie stick on top of a garbage can, setting a 10 second timer and running out and posing in front of the cathedral. After watching him give his second attempt I just had to help him. So I offer to take his picture and he grins (i wasn't really sure if he understood my offer) but he ran out into the middle of the street put his hand on his hip and smiled ear to ear. After I snapped that he pointed to the other building and we both shifted positions and I got a few more. He was very thankful, but that man made my night.

We took a lap around the block because overtime we see something new. This time I saw the Magnum Ice Cream store. Which i had to saw is one of the best ice cream bars you can buy, so I said that we had to go in. Here they had a build our own bar! You got to pick three toppings then the ice-cream gets dipped in dark, white, or milk chocolate.your toppings on top then drizzled with more chocolate. OH MY GOSH. IT WAS GREAT! Mine was vanilla ice cream dipped in milk chocolate, with a coconut, almond, and pistachio topping with a milk chocolate drizzle!
