Jet Lagged

Well Jet lag is real. I have been struggling, I'm having the hardest time staying asleep, even though yesterday I got the best night of sleep so far this trip, I woke up exhausted and right away I knew that during our break in orientation I would be taking a nap.

Orientation day two went well! They informed us of the best and cheapest, airlines and trains to use. Like a flight from Florence to Poland is only 36€. And we got the names of the best restaurants, gelato, and pizza in the area! Then they took us to a big supermarket which to our surprise is right behind our apartment! As I said before supermarkets are hard to find so we got lucky! AND right around the corner from that is the train station! On our walk there we passed a leather shop that had a Miami University Flag hanging in the middle of the store, we didn't have the time to stop, but we will be going back soon to add our name to that Flag. But best of all we got to see our studio! Before we saw it they warned us that it was still in progress of being all set up but it was coming along well! It is so cute, but also so strange. Going from a studio that is 50 students to only 3 of us is crazy, but our professor is quite excited about it because she says everyday she will get to critique each of us (which also causes us not to be able to slack off)

So this weekend we are looking into going to one of Italy's costal cities, but Rachel forgot her swimsuit. So we asked where a good place to get one is and we got the name of a place that had a huge sale going on since it's coming to the end of swimsuit season. So we embarked on the adventure of finding this store with rachel leading the way. After about 15 minutes of walking we popped out at the a familiar area that is only 5 minutes from our starting spot, all to figure out that the store we were looking for had changed locations. (Rachel isn't allowed to lead us anywhere again) Some advice we were given is to avoid looking like a tourist walk while looking straight ahead (not looking around and up at all the sites) well rachel didn't take this advice well because in the hunt for this store she stepped in a nice pile of horse #2.

So we gave up and decided to get dinner at a restaurant I had previously eaten at when I was here last spring. We got some delicious drinks and Rachel and Anna both got calzones which once they came I instantly regretted not getting on for myself because they were the size of my torso! So because of my jealousy you can guarantee we will be going back there soon enough so I can have my own calzone!

Right around the corner from the restaurant we found the swimsuit store we had been searching for, and Anna's favorite gelato place (even though we have only been to two, she fell in love with the first place we went) she got the same order of a mixed berry gelato in a cone, which I tried for myself yesterday and I will admit it was pretty tasty but coconut still has my heart!

Well that's it for today, but can't forget a special birthday shoutout to my little sister Bree. Love you and miss you
